Patrick Obahiagbon a.k.a the son of igodomigodo is a Nigerian politician and legal practitioner of over 20years in the political scenery and practice in the federal republic of Nigeria. He was born as a Bini man (formerly known as igodomigodo) on the 12th of April 1960 (63years old as at 2023).
EDUCATION
Patrick Obahiagbon attended and graduated from St. John Bosco Grammar school where he obtained his secondary school leaving certificate in Ubiaja, of the then Bendel state of Nigeria. He then proceeded to further his studies as a lawyer in the university of Benin (UNIBEN) Nigeria. He graduated from law school with honors in the year 1987 and also holds an MS.c (masters degree) in public administration and international history and diplomacy.
POLITICAL CAREER
Honorable Barrister Patrick Obahiagbon showed great interest in politics and kickstarted his political career in the year 1999 (the same year the Nigerian constitution was adopted)
He started off as a member of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he was elected to represent the oredo constituency in the Edo state house of assembly (EDHA) of which he served dual tenures (for eight years). He was then elected to the higher green chambers of the National Assembly (the federal House of Representatives) where he served/represented oredo federal constituency in the year 2007.
In 2010, Hon Patrick Obahiagbon dumped the people’s Democratic Party, PDP, over internal misunderstandings he described as political malpractices as he’s know to always satisfy his conscience first before any political interest. This resulted to him joining the then Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) as a “de jure” member. The ACN later formed a merger with the All Nigerian People’s Party (ANPP), and the CPC to become the All progressive Congress APC, all in its quest to unseat the ruling party, PDP (people’s Democratic Party) from the Aso Villa (presidential seat).
After Hon Patrick Obahiagbon failed to be re-elected to service in the federal House of Representatives for the second tenure, he was later appointed by his boss whom he was very loyal to; comrade Adam Aliyu Eric Oshiomhole as a chief of staff to oshiomhole who was the executive governor of edo state then.
Patrick Obahiagbon contested for the office of the senate in the year 2019 under the APC and lost the seat to Senator Matthew Urhoghide of PDP. Since then, he hasn’t occupied any minor or major political office in the state or in the country.
